About the Huehuetenango Region
Huehuetenango is the highest and driest of Guatamala's non-volcanic regions. This renowned region owes much to the dry hot winds that come in from the mountains of Mexico's Tehuantepec plain. The additional heat layers protect Huehuetenango from frost and enable coffee to grow at altitueds of 2,000 masl
 
Special Mission Roast!
Each month for about 35 years, Dr. Otto and his family, have travel hours to remote villages and mountain communities to provide medical clinics and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Reckless Coffee owner, Dean Woodard-Neary, spent a week in April 2024 traveling, working, and worshiping along side Dr. Otto and his daughters Zucy, Mercy, and Mercy’s Husband Roger, who are all doctors.
 
“Dr. Otto and his family are some of the most beautiful humans and Christians I have ever met” said Dean. “seeing their genuine love for every single person they talked to and served was life changing. Hearing the excitement and joy they have for Jesus and sharing His good news to the kids in these villages really touched my heart.”
 
Dr. Otto truly Loves Recklessly and we are very excited to introduce the rebranding of our Guatemalan Blend as, Las Victorias, and that a portion of the proceeds of every bag sold will go directly to Dr. Otto and his ministry.
